After recovering from a visit to Moscow,LIBER in Barcelona and the Frankfurt Book Fair this October, I am looking forward to my next trip to FIL Guadalajara.
You can find my publishing reporting regularly in Publishers Weekly — and regular essays from me featured at Bookwitty.com, and elsewhere.
You can also find several reported pieces about my hometown of Houston, Texas in the new Houston CityBook magazine.
My consulting practice continues to grow and I’m working with clients ranging from the augmented story experience app Squirl, out of Belgium, to publishing platform Ridero in Russia, to Cinestate, a multi-platform publisher out of Dallas.
I am continuing to make the conscious shift toward a more minimalist lifestyle (I hope), and striving to purge the books that are either out-of-date or no longer resonate with me from my library. I am also challenging myself to pack as little as possible on my trips. I’ve somehow managed — through the magic of merino wool clothing (the UK’s Finisterre makes my favorite) — to get myself down to a small backpack’s worth of gear for each week long trip. (Tom Bihn’s Smart Alec is my current bag).
I’m eager to embrace new challenges and help empower those with whatever value I can spread. Set up a meeting and let’s talk — and if you see me, ask me how my ankle is…that would be very kind!
